Dynamite Warrior

The martial arts films that have recently come out of Thailand have been of a very high caliber, and have earned their place within the ever-expanding realm of this genre. The filmmakers from Thailand have successfully blended the mystic and realistic storylines together in order to create very compelling tales. Here we're given a glimpse into the early career of Dan Chupong, who fights in the same style as Tony Jaa, and if he continues to be a part of the filmmaking in Thailand there's no telling how far he'll go.
Avenging the deaths of his parents, Jone searches for the cattle thieves that killed them and in the process returns all of the stolen cattle to the desperate farmers, but when a dark wizard offers him an easier way to find the killers he must use all his strength to survive. The fight sequences are very well choreographed and the obvious use of effects for some of the mystical martial arts that are used only enhances the sequences more. The borrowing of some story plots from Robin Hood only draws the audience in to cheer on the good guy even when he turns to evil to accomplish what he needs to. There is one thing that is a little off about this film and it's the title, there is no dynamite used by the main character what he does use is rockets, but who's really checking.
There are more than a few martial arts films that I've seen over the years that try to capture the essence of the films from the 60s and 70s, here we're given a taste of what those films could be like if they were made today. This was an enjoyable film from beginning to end and with the multi layered storyline we're given a tale that is a pleasure to see unfold. If you enjoy a good martial arts film that can hold your interest with a strong story, this is definitely a movie not to miss.
