Infection

Over recent years the Asian cinema has evolved the horror genre of films, and has done it so well that now there are American and European film makers trying to imitate them. No idea or issue is taboo when it comes to horror, Asian film makers know just how close to the edge they can push the audience and then don't stop until their over the edge and screaming in terror. This storyline taps into those feelings most of us have about hospitals and the way people are treated there.
When an infectious patient, whose internal organs are being liquefied, is left in the ER of a small understaffed hospital, the staff fight amongst themselves and time before the infection become uncontrollable and kills them all. Some of the special effects used harkens back to the low budget movies of the 80s, but the one thing this film has over them is a suspenseful story that never lets go. The cast that is gathered in this little hospital come across so well that most of the time your left shaking at the same times they are.
From the use of real issues like medical malpractice to office cover-up this story keeps the audience grounded in reality, so that when the supernatural aspects star to enter the tale it doesn't seem to far fetched. There are some parts in the story that aren't for the faint of heart, but if you can get through the subtitles its worth the effort. With so many horror films out there its hard to see them all, but when there's movies that are this good they should be seen by a large audience. So after you watch this movie the only thing you have to remember is that red is red, green is green and try not to lose your head.
