Tin Man

Most of the time when a movie is remade the new film makers try to stay faithful to the original idea and concept. But when a film is being completely reimaigned, then all bets are off on what the film makers will use from the original film. This film is a complete reimagining of the Wizard of Oz story with Judy Garland, all of the elements from the original story are here. Albeit with some interesting and exciting twists to the characters and the symbolisms throughout the film, the true spirit of L. Frank Baum novels.
A young woman who has questions about the way she feels gets hurled into a fantastic world where she teams up with three unusual characters to fight the evil sorceress who is trying to destroy the world. Visually this film goes so far beyond the original film, but with all of the hints and connections that this film makes to the original it only makes it even more fun to watch. There are parts throughout the film that the film makers reference the original film, and if anyone can pick them all out the first time through the film, well then "You're a better man than I, Gunga Din."
Like the old saying goes, this is not your grandparents Wizard of Oz, and thankfully so. In a time where the audience expects more action and more substance to the characters this film comes through with the goods and does an outstanding job. This movie goes so far beyond the original it's hard to believe it's the same story, but the alterations that are made are done in such an skillful way that after you've seen the whole story you can see the massive scope of the Land of OZ.
